Childbirth Education:

Dear Expectant Mom,
You and your coach are invited to participate in our classes here at Marias Medical Center.
Maybe this is your first baby, or maybe you need a "refresher", either way I know you will enjoy our classes.
"Refresher" courses are offered on an "as needed" basis and usually consist of two classes. Phone for more information.
Classes are interactive and informal. First hour is information (video, demonstration, lecture, discussion, hand outs), and the second hour is instruction and practice of Lamaze breathing techniques for different stages of labor.
Class 1: Introduction, orientation, overview of classes, goals, Anatomy, Warning signs, Kegal exercises, 1st breathing pattern, relaxation.
Class 2: True Labor versus false Labor, Stages of Labor, Fetal monitoring, Hospital procedures, body mechanics, relaxation exercises, 2nd and 3rd breathing patterns.
Class 3: Timing contractions, back labor, Hyperventilation, Breathing, relaxing, Pushing. Tour of birthing room, nursery, and post partum area.
Class 4:Mock labor, Post partum and Parenting, Birth control, Baby information, practice all breathing patterns.
Class 5: Relationship between caregiver and infant, bonding and attachment, finding quality child care, meeting parents of newborn baby, question and answer discussion.
