The surgical department at Marias Medical Center consists of one full time RN (Lana Kolstad-supervisor) and one full time scrub tech (Jeanette Jergens-OR manager). In addition, there are three part-time RNs and one part-time scrub tech. MMC has a full time anesthesiologist (Dr. Lords) who provides anesthesia and pain control services.

Our operating room staff provides top notch comfort and care with their expertise and years of experience.

There are two OR suites available and staff coverage 24/7. The family practice physicians do many of their own procedures and utilize the services of general surgeon, Dr. Mortenson) from Great Falls, MT. Gynecological, obstetrical and general surgical procedures are performed here, with approximately 350 cases per year. Flexible endoscopy procedures, 120 total yearly, are also performed here, by Dr. Liechty.  An eye surgeon, Dr. Boes and a hand surgeon, Dr. Reagan also do cases monthly in our ORs. A local dentist, Dr. Haight utilizes the ORs for dental procedures three times a month.
