Surgery and Anesthesia Department

The Surgery department at Marias Medical Center consists of one full time RN (Lana Kolstad-supervisor) and one full time scrub tech (Jeanette Jergens-OR manager). In addition, there are three part-time RNs and one part-time scrub tech. MMC has a full time anesthesiologist (Dr. Lords)who provides anesthesia and pain control services.

Our operating room staff provides top notch comfort and care with their expertise and years of experience.

There are two OR suites available and staff coverage is 24/7. The family practice physicians do many of their own procedures and utilize the monthly service of a general surgeon (Dr. Mortenson) from Great Falls, MT. Gynecological, obstetrical, and general surgical procedures are performed here--approximately 350 cases per year. Flexible endoscopic gastrointestinal procedures are also performed here twice a month by Dr. Liechty. Dr. Boes, an eye surgeon, and Dr. Reagan, a hand surgeon, also do cases monthly in our ORs. Dr. Haight, our facility dentist, utilizes the ORs for dental procedures three times a month.
